Everyone has their own idea of breakfast, which can vary widely from one person to the next, but what we all definitely look for is a satisfying, filling meal that doesn’t weigh us down.
To get your day off to a great start, before breakfast every day, we recommend a glass of Bongiorno in your favourite flavour: you’ll wonder what you ever did without it!

And for a satisfying breakfast, you need to look for foods that contain fibre and protein, and are composed of both simple and complex carbohydrates. For example, a muesli with nuts and dehydrated fruit can be the base for a healthy, filling, satisfying breakfast, aided by some yogurt: whether it’s made from cow’s milk or soya milk, it’s an excellent option for a balanced breakfast.

You might like to try different breakfasts according to the season: in summer, it’s nice to start the day with something fresh and cool, such as yogurt or milk, accompanied by some fresh seasonal fruit as well as muesli or bread and jam.

A ‘continental’ breakfast can be a good alternative to the classic sweet breakfast, as long as you exercise moderation and make sure all the necessary nutrients are present. So a few slices of bread with some fresh cheese and freshly squeezed orange juice might be a good idea. In any case, variety is the secret!

If you like to stay light, some milk or a similar drink with about five dry biscuits and a piece of fruit or a handful of nuts offer a healthy “minimal”, yet satisfying start to the day.

Although it’s not quite the emblem of a balanced breakfast, the classic cappuccino and pastry or a slice of cake or a few pancakes are pleasures we can treat ourselves to now and again, as long as it doesn’t become our daily breakfast.
